I going to say that these are half a treat each because I used mixes and didn’t do much special.

Gingerbread cookies:

How cute!

The mix from Williams and Sonoma is awesome! And they had the cutest little cookie cutters that are 3-D. Although I didn’t use those because I was making these cookies for my mom to bring to work with her. But one day I’ll use them! Here I used Wilton mini holiday cookie cutters, you can get them at Michaels.

And Nutella cake balls. No picture though. I made these in a hurry to send to Therese, you remember my friend from DC?, in time for Christmas since she won’t be home. You’ll just have to trust me that I made them. They were delish. Just use chocolate cake mix and mix with Nutella. Roll into a little ball, dip in chocolate and there you have it!

Next up…Christmas weekend.


Must admit, I was hoping these would come out better. I don’t think I used the right chocolate, it’s too overpowering. And I wish they looked more uniform, but hey I’m my own worst critic. And I’m the type that will make them until I am satisfied, so expect different versions of these in the future.

I was just online looking for tips for my cake ball try round two and found this: Cupcake Bites

Check them out, they are adorable. I wish I had thought of that before because it looks so cute!!! Might be trying that for Christmas as a “Too poor to buy an actual present so here’s a homemade one” kind of present. (Also more like an “This gives me an excuse to bake” present)

my parents know about this little challenge of mine, so i’m really not sure why it comes as such a surprise when im back at the baking. “what are you baking again?” YES. im baking AGAIN. please stop asking me about this, you don’t seem to mind when what i’m baking is in your tummy. geez!

anyways, i’m in the process of making my third treat and it’s going horribly wrong right now. i need tips on melting/dipping things in chocolate. i started dipping my cake balls in white chocolate and it was just awful. i had to stop. i’m not sure if it’s the cake balls or the white chocolate but it was throughly frustrating.
